Would you willingly allow your child to drink water that is so nasty that you know for a fact it could make them sick enough to die? Of course you would not allow them to. You would go somewhere and borrow or purchase clean water for them to consume because you probably can. What if you were a parent who was faced with the stark reality that there was no clean water for your children to drink that you could get to? How do you think that would make you feel to know that you could not provide your family with something as simple as clean water?
That is the case for so many parents through out the world today. In some countries the availability of clean water that is safe to drink is almost impossible. The places where they get their water from are also used by animals or infested with insects, feces, and urine. It sounds really disgusting does it not? This is what some parents face each and everyday. Not only is this filthy water all they have to drink, but sometimes they might have to walk for miles and take all day just to reach it.
There are many, many, different organizations around the world filled with caring concerned people who are doing all that they can to help resolve this terrible issue. Wells are being dug in areas where there is no clean supply of water. The people who receive the wells in their small villages or communities are so grateful and it gives them a brand new lease on life. When they get a new well dug, it means they will be supplied with safe water for drinking, cooking, and bathing. This is one less worry burden they have to bear. They know their kids can drink safely without the fear of getting sick with illness like diarrhea or worse. Such a simple thing can change so many lives.
If you and your family can afford even the smallest contribution to help digs these clean water wells somewhere in the world or help provide food for a starving child, what better way can you say you care about the rest of humanity around the world. We have so much here in our country. Can we not afford to spare just a few dollars a month to give a better life to others?
